I went on a writing retreat

In October I went to Bali with dear life-long friends Annie and Margie to attend a Writing Retreat. I’ve been promising to write a book for a long time and it was great to take time out to focus on that.
Despite the humid heat, it was a wonderful experience and I spent many an hour at various cafes writing away. The book is called ‘Cycles of the Soul: the Shadow and Mental Health’ and it is coming along nicely!

The book is a weaving of Cyclical Wisdom, Psychodrama and Western Medicine. I am aiming to bring a unique and natural perspective to working with the healing of mental health problems: individual and collective. I believe that those 3 sides of my triangle have much to offer each other and can work together as a whole to create something fresh in the field of mental health.

One of the days I was there, I ventured into Ubud to do a spot of shopping and visit a few cafes, and, to my joy I found Sheela-na-Gig! Well, they are very old and from Timor, and no doubt called something other than Sheela (because of course Sheela is Irish), but isn’t it exciting how different cultures across the world explore and celebrate the mysteries of a woman’s body?
